Concerns
LGBT travel
LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and other) people often have special concerns or interests when travelling. This page lists three things: events and activities of special interest to, or targeted towards, LGBT travellers; destinations where being out as LGBT is acceptable; and destinations where it might be dangerous to travel if one's transgender status or nonheterosexual orientation is known.
Stay safe
There are many things that you can do to ensure that you stay safe while traveling. Wikivoyage articles have a "Stay safe" section with location specific advice.
Arriving in a new city
When arriving in a new city, it's often good to make some practical preparations. If you're visiting friends or family, asking them to pick you up can make your arrival much smoother and may also make immigration formalities (if applicable) a lot easier, as your "I am visiting X" story is much less likely to be doubted.
Border crossing
This article describes concerns about border crossing. See interesting borders for borders as an attraction.

Communication
In addition, most country articles have a "Connect" section that covers communications issues.
Culture shock
Sometimes, after a few days or weeks in a new place, a traveller starts to feel stressed about the unfamiliar language and customs, irritated at the people and culture, homesick, and altogether in a bad mood. This is culture shock.
Preparation
European Union
The European Union (EU) is an economic and political union of 27 member states in Europe. Many neighbouring countries participate in specific areas, such as immigration controls and currency.

Chinese provinces and regions
China's system of political geography differs somewhat from that in other countries. In some ways it is more complex and it has undergone considerable change over the last century or so.
Equipment
Equipment includes all things that travellers might bring with them.
European quick reference
This quick reference to Europe collects country codes, currency code information, direct dialling information and time zone information into a single location.
