Rockland County is a county of New York state in the Metro New York region. It lies to the immediate north of Bergen County, New Jersey and across the Hudson from Westchester County. It is less densely populated than both those counties, with great hiking and birdwatching in the various parks overlooking the high cliffs of the Palisades, pretty riverfront communities, some more typical suburban areas and some nearly all-Chasidic towns.
By bus
Various bus routes go to numerous destinations from Port Authority Bus Terminal near Times Square and also connect the county to points in neighboring counties and parts of New Jersey.
By train
By car
Rockland County is easily accessible via the NY Thruway (Interstates 87/287), the Palisades Parkway, the Garden State Parkway and the I-86 corridor (still NY 17 in this area).
NY 303, NY 304, US 9W, NY 59, NY 45, and the Palisades Parkway offer access to many area attractions.
