Patmos (Greek: Πάτμος) is a small Greek island in the Aegean Sea, one of the northernmost islands of the Dodecanese complex.

According to tradition, here St. John of Patmos received his visions that he recorded in the Book of Revelation.
The Monastery of Saint John the Theologian dominates the skyline of Patmos, its fortress-like walls a reminder of centuries of devotion and defense. Founded in 1088, it is dedicated to John the Apostle, who is believed to have written the Book of Revelation nearby. Inside, richly decorated chapels, frescoes, and a remarkable library reveal its spiritual and cultural significance
With views across to nearby islets and a laid-back atmosphere, it’s a perfect spot for an easy, enjoyable beach day.
Psili Ammos Beach is widely regarded as the finest sandy beach on Patmos, prized for its soft golden sand and clear, shallow waters. Accessible by boat or a scenic hike, it feels more secluded than other beaches on the island. The setting is unspoiled and natural, with rolling dunes and minimal development. A small seasonal taverna provides simple meals and drinks.
