Northern Samar is one of the three provinces of Samar Island in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.
By bus
Buses from Manila going to the Visayas and Mindanao pass through its roll-on/roll-off port of Allen in the western side, which is about 45 minutes from Catarman.
Vans and jeepneys serve as transportation to the various towns in the province while boats going to the island municipalities of the province such Laoang, Biri, Capul, and San Antonio among others.
