The far northern end of the gigantic coal mine lies within Mönchengladbach. The mine itself is strictly off limits but just standing nearby you can see the true scale of destruction.
Former water castle, transformed into a Baroque chateau during 1656 to 1667. One of the most beautiful and imposing residences in the Rhineland. It is surrounded by an English-style landscape garden with remarkable old and rare trees.
