Canet de Mar

11th-century medieval castle.

It was consecrated on March 6, 1591, and one hundred years later, the chapel of the Santíssim, the bell tower, and the transept were added to it.

It's a small church annexed to the hospital. It has a small bell tower with a belfry that crowns the façade. It is in the Baroque style but very simple. This church was already in operation in 1570 but was renovated in the 19th century, following the alignment of the façade of the fishermen's houses

It is a place of devotion documented since 1461. With the increase in population and devotion to the Mercy in the 19th century, the building, which measured only in width and in length, became too small. In 1852, a new building was commissioned. Despite the prevailing neoclassical fashion, before the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, Molina defended his preference for the neo-Gothic style. During the Spanish Civil War, the building was set on fire, and most of the archives were lost. After the war, the building was restored.
