Even though most of the royal tombs of Joseon Dynasty are in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do, Jangneung for King Danjong is in Yeongwol, because the young king was murdered here. Yeongwol registants hold an annual festival, Yeongwol Danjong Festival to commemorate him.
