The town is mostly known for its butterfly festival, attracting over a million visitors every year.
By bus
There are many buses. From Gwangju, the express buses run every 30 minutes. You can also take intra-city bus - number 100 for ₩1200.
By train
You can take a train to Hampyeong station.
By plane
Nearest airports are Muan international airport (near Mokpo) or Gwangju airport.
Taxis are really cheap. You can take the number 100 bus for ₩1200. The ride passes through some beautiful mountains.
