Cheongdo Eupseong is a square-shaped flatland fortress located in the center of Cheongdo County, with a circumference of about 2 km and a height of 1.7 m, and is believed to have been built since the Goryeo period.
During the Imjin War, the east, west, and north gates were destroyed and the fortress walls were dismantled; following the Japanese colonial era, the remaining walls were also damaged, leaving only parts and foundations today.
Every March, Cheongdo County holds the 'Step on Cheongdo Eupseong' event, where women walk the fortress walls to drive away bad luck and pray for longevity.
