부안 줄포만 노을빛 정원; Julpo Bay Tidal Flat Ecological Park
A coastal ecological garden near Julpo Bay, formerly known as Julpo Bay Tidal Flat Ecological Park. The spacious grounds feature reed-lined walking paths, gardens and wetland scenery. Visitors can enjoy peaceful walks, observe the natural surroundings and visit an ecological exhibition hall introducing the plants and animals of the tidal flats. Some activities and facilities require separate admission fees.
부안누에타운
An educational museum complex dedicated to silkworms, mulberry trees and traditional Korean sericulture. Visitors can explore the Silkworm and Insect Science Hall, learn about the life cycle of silkworms, and discover how silk is produced. The complex also features interactive exhibits, a hands-on learning hall and outdoor gardens. Some workshops require an additional fee.
부안 백산성
A historic fortress site on a low hill in Baeksan-myeon, closely associated with the Donghak Peasant Revolution of 1894. Peasant forces gathered here before advancing toward Jeonju. Although few visible remains of the original fortress survive, the site is important for understanding Korea's late Joseon history and the struggle for social reform. The hill also offers views over the surrounding plains.
부안 청림천문대
An astronomical observatory and educational facility opened in 2011 in the countryside of Buan. It features a 1,000-mm Nasmyth reflecting telescope housed in an eight-meter fully opening dome, along with smaller telescopes for observing celestial objects. Visitors can participate in astronomy programs and observe the Sun, Moon, planets and stars, depending on weather conditions and the observation schedule.
곰소항
A fishing port on Gomso Bay, known for its traditional salted seafood and locally produced sea salt. Visitors can watch fishing boats in the harbor, explore the surrounding seafood market and discover a variety of fermented seafood specialties. The waterfront also offers views of the tidal flats and the coastal landscape of western Buan.
웅연조대
This view captures the serene, peaceful outer coast at Gomso Bay. It highlights the traditional, picturesque scene of anglers fishing (jodae) against the backdrop of the calm sea and the unique salt flats, embodying the relaxed atmosphere of the western shore.
