The most famous place to visit in Bełżec is the Nazi-German extermination camp. Approximately 435,000 people eventually got killed here between March 1942 and March 1943. Only two people survived the extermination camp. Nowadays there is a mausoleum and memorial site on the same location of the extermination camp that are possible to visit.
Sometimes there are trains running to Bełżec from Lublin. These trains run very irregularly so it is really important to check in advance whether they are operating on the desired day or not.
