Santander is the southernmost municipality in Cebu Province, 137 km from Cebu City. It does not attract many tourists on its own merits, though there are some beach resorts. It does get quite a few travellers passing through, mostly because it has a ferry terminal that is on the main bus route between Dumaguete and Metro Cebu.
Santander is on the coastal highway that runs around Cebu Island and is therefore reachable by road from almost anywhere on the island.
