Driving in Morocco

Driving can be a good option for independent travel in Morocco. The country is comparatively easily accessible by car ferry from Europe, and car rental is readily available.

UnderstandThe town grew from a small fishing village, it does not have much more to offer: there is not much to see besides the clean and wide sand beach and the fishing boats.

Get inThere are frequent grand taxis from Tetouan (25 dirham, 1 hr) and a couple of buses.

Get aroundThe city center is easily walkable. Occasionally though, petite taxis can be seen.

SeeOn the northside of town you can find Picasso Beach, which has rocks on its northern end and a sandy beach towards town. This is a relaxed spot.

BuyThere is at least one ATM of Al Barid bank, close to the taxi stand.

EatThere are not many options, but you should give the fish tajine (30-50 dirham) offered in the center a try.

SleepTouts can organize you a flat for about 150 dirham per night (and double that during peak summer months), check for a clean bathroom/kitchen and blankets.
