Dating back to the 12th century, the foundation was established around 1110, while the church was consecrated between 1146 and 1147. It was expanded in the 1700s with the addition of a second nave and several chapels. Since 2011, it has held the status of a minor basilica.
Ancient bridge
Dating back to a period between the 7th and 10th centuries AD and built with a "donkey-back" (arched) profile featuring three spans, this bridge was constructed using small basalt blocks bound with lime mortar, while the arches were fashioned from squared blocks of red trachyte.
