a beautiful area near the Kuta Beach. The sand is very unique that it looks like pepper. Beach guards are on the beach early. They prevent hawkers from hassling tourists, but normally the hawkers are mostly children and quiet villagers trying to make a living, and they are quite good natured. Often good quality sarongs and kalapa muda (young coconut) drinks are available from local people seeking business at this beach. They will open up the coconut for you of course and if you are lucky they might be able to supply a straw or glass to provide a refreshing drink whilst sitting at the beach.
One of Lombok's finest viewpoints, Bukit Merese is a grassy headland overlooking Tanjung Aan Beach, the Indian Ocean and the rugged southern coastline. A short but moderately steep walk leads to panoramic views in every direction. Sunrise and sunset are the most popular times to visit, when the hills glow golden and the beaches below are particularly photogenic. There is a small entrance fee and basic parking facilities.
landscaped beachfront area forming part of the Mandalika tourism development. Wide promenades, cycle paths, gardens and public beaches provide an attractive place for walking, relaxing and watching the sunset. Cafés, resorts and the nearby Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit have transformed the area into Lombok's premier resort district while retaining public beach access.
Bukit Seger
A short climb above Seger Beach rewards visitors with panoramic views over Kuta Bay, Mandalika, the international racing circuit and the surrounding coastline. The hill is particularly popular at sunrise and sunset, and is also the focal point of the annual Bau Nyale festival celebrating the legend of Princess Mandalika.
This is where most of the accommodations and restaurants are located.
