Beautiful bay bordered by two rocky promontories. Nearby is a surf beach called Mawi. The sand is very fine, no traces of coral. Lots of people go there to surf. The bike ride from Kuta to this beach passes through steep hills and paddy fields. It is a very scenic drive. However this beach has now become very commercialised and you might be accostedd by hards sellers the moment you enter the beach from the parking lot. Almost every place here teaches surfing and also provide food and drink. Please note that the warungs here charge you over 100000 IDR to just use their sunbeds. So bring your own beach towels and shade if you want to avoid shelling out that kind of money.
A huge stretch of sand almost midway between Kuta and Selong Belanak. This beach is barely crowded and has only a couple of warungs serving food and drinks. It is easy to miss as it's a short ride off the main road. This is in complete contrast to other beaches and is so huge that it is divided into two parts on the main road. The backdrafts can be strong and not as good for swimming like Tanjung Ann. But a very peaceful and chilled out beach if you want some 'me time' and just walk the whole massive length of the beach.
Mawun beach is a secluded half-moon bay with crystal clear water and pristine sand. There's one big tree where people congregate in the shade. An awesome place for relaxing, safe swimming and surfing. The only facilities are a few drinks stalls.
landscaped beachfront area forming part of the Mandalika tourism development. Wide promenades, cycle paths, gardens and public beaches provide an attractive place for walking, relaxing and watching the sunset. Cafés, resorts and the nearby Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit have transformed the area into Lombok's premier resort district while retaining public beach access.
