town hall
The town hall was probably created between 1713 and 1717 according to plans by Gabriel de Gabriele. Master mason Johann Michael Anspacher, foreman Giovanni Rigaglia and Windsheim craftsmen erected the town hall as a castle-like baroque building. Burnt out during the great fire on December 3, 1730, it was rebuilt by July 1732 by the Windsheim city master builder Johann Niklaus Krauß.
The statue of Roland was erected in 1928 as a war memorial for the fallen of the Franco-Prussian War of 1870/71 and the First World War. A plaque added later commemorates the fallen of World War II. The figure is 8 m high, with the column a total of 11 m.
On the first weekend in August every year Bad Windsheim is the location for an event called Weinturm Open Air, a concert on the top of a hill in the town.
