One of the most notable examples of ancient rock paintings in Asia. The paintings were painted by the Luoyue people between the 5th century BC and the 2nd century. The paintings can be seen at 38 locations in the region but it is the Huashan (or Flower Mountain) site, which is the most famous as this is where the paintings are most clearly visible. Hence the paintings take their name from that site. Visiting the rock paintings requires taking a cruise boat. Tickets can be purchased online if you have a Chinese ID card. Otherwise, you will need to buy a ticket at the visitor center. After purchasing a ticket, you will need to go to the car park to board a bus to the wharf where the tour boats depart. Boats depart daily at 09:00, 10:30, 12:00, 13:30 and 14:30.
The Zuojiang Huashan Rock Art Cultural Landscape is an extensive assembly of historical rock art that was painted on limestone cliff faces in Guangxi, southern China. The paintings are located on the west bank of the Ming River (Guangxi) which is a tributary of the Zuo River. The area of the paintings is part of the Nonggang Nature Reserve and belongs to Ningming County. On July 15, 2016, Zuojiang Huashan Rock Art Cultural Landscape was listed as the 49th UNESCO World Heritage Site in China.
