The centerpiece of the park is the Shangqing Temple, a Taoist Temple that was founded in the Tang Dynasty. The temple has been rebuilt and renovated many times, partly due to damage caused by numerous disasters such as an earthquake in the 16th century and a Japanese bombing raid in World War II.
