Marlborough is a small town of 150 (2021) in Central Queensland along the Bruce Highway between Rockhampton and Mackay. It doesn't have much going for it, but it is the only town for a decent bit as the section of highway between Rocky and Mackay contain a fair bit of nothingness and makes for a good place to break the drive.

A small local history museum, where you can also learn more about chrysoprase which Marlborough was once-renowned for.
The only hotel and pub in town with decent meals for what you would get in the country. If you're on an extreme budget, they also provide the option to camp for only $5 to use the toilets and showers, though this is only recommended during the winter.
