Stockholm Archipelago Trail/Rånö

The easy Rånö stage begins at Rånö ferry stop, a short walk from all services: a summer grocery store, Rånö Brygga restaurant, and bike and kayak rental. The route heads north through open forest on gravel road, passing a waterside campground and Rånö Gård, before a short out-and-back detour to the island's northern tip, where a fire pit makes a fine rest stop. A worthwhile westward detour from the quay leads to Knicksand, a holiday village with rocky coves and a sandy beach facing Mysingen — especially good for sunsets. The island is part of the Ålö-Rånö nature reserve and abundant in mushrooms come autumn.
