Tennessee is a US state in the South known for its rich history, music, and the Appalachian Mountains along its eastern border. Many visitors come to see Elvis Presley's home, Graceland, or the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
Home to Bristol, Chattanooga, Johnson City, Knoxville, and the Smoky Mountains in the heart of Appalachia.
The state's most prosperous area. It is centered around the state capital of Nashville, a bustling metropolis surrounded by rolling hills.
Bordered by the Mississippi River and generally considered the extreme northern boundary of Mississippi Delta cultural influence. This region's largest and most famous city is Memphis.
By plane
There are several airports in the state. Memphis International Airport is served by many major airlines, with service to Toronto, Canada, as its only international route (as of Nov 2019).
By train
Amtrak service in Tennessee is limited to the City of New Orleans service stopping in Memphis and Newbern.
By bus
Greyhound offers service throughout Tennessee. Megabus offers service to Memphis (from Chicago, Champaign-Urbana, St., Christiansburg and Atlanta).
As in most American states, automobiles are the primary form of travel. In larger cities you will find public bus systems, and Greyhound buses are an option for travel in between cities.

The Appalachian Trail (AT) travels 2,198.4 mi (3,538.0 km) between Springer Mountain in Georgia and Mount Katahdin in Maine, following the Appalachian Mountain Range through 14 states. It was designated a United States National Scenic Trail in 1968.
Big South Fork National River and Recreation Area is a United States national recreation area that straddles the regions of Eastern Tennessee and Kentucky's Daniel Boone Country.
Great Smoky Mountains National Park is a United States national park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and an International Biosphere Reserve that straddles the border between Tennessee and North Carolina. Because of its substantial size, its location within a few hundred miles of several large cities, its year-round accessibility, and of course its general appeal to a wide variety of people, it consistently ranks as the most-visited national park in the United States of America, with 9-10 million visits per year.
Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area (LBL) is a United States national recreation area in Kentucky and Tennessee. Land Between the Lakes offers all the outdoor recreation "basics" with opportunities for environmental and historic interpretation.
Dollywood is a major attraction located on the border between Pigeon Forge and Sevierville, Tennessee. It consists of DreamMore Resort, Dollywood Cabins, Dollywood Amusement Park, and Dollywood's Splash Country.
