Shakotan (積丹) is a sparsely populated peninsula on the western coast of Hokkaido, south of Otaru.

It's a 30-minute hike to a lighthouse with beautiful views of the ocean and coast.
Seafood restaurant. To acquire their special Red Bafun Uni, only available between July and August, one must arrive one hour before opening, given only 15 servings are made per day, for ¥5000 each.
