紙風船上げ Kamifuusen Age
In this festival dating back more than a century, large decorated paper balloons are lit and float off in the evening sky. The evening can get cold, so warm clothing is recommended.
By car
Route 46 connects Akita and Morioka to Semboku. Route 105 and Route 341 travel through Semboku from the north to south on opposite sides of Lake Tazawa.
From Lake Tazawako Station, buses depart for Nyuto Onsen, Tamagawa, and the Lake Tazawa area.
