Schwerin Palace
Known as the "Neuschwanstein of the North," this romantic palace was the residence of the Dukes of Mecklenburg. Since 2024, it has been recognized as a World Heritage site. Nowadays, the castle houses the state parliament (Landtag) of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. It sits in a picturesque location next to the Schweriner See (lake) and is adjacent to an extensive park. Tickets are available at the entrance; no prior registration is required.
Schweriner Dom
A major example of Northern German Brick Gothic and the oldest building in the city. At 117.5 meters, its tower is the highest in Mecklenburg. The cathedral is an essential part of the UNESCO-listed residence ensemble and serves as the burial place for the Grand Dukes of Mecklenburg-Schwerin. Access to the viewing platform via 220 steps. Ensure you arrive at least 45 minutes before the cathedral's closing time if you plan to climb the tower.
TV tower
The 136.5 m-high TV tower is a unique design; the cross-section of the tower is a curved triangle instead of a circle. Please note that the tower is not open to the public and can only be viewed from the outside. As a curiosity close to it, there is a guyed radio mast, which is 273 m high.

The collection features a significant number of exhibits from the former East Germany (GDR) as well as West German and international items.Guided tours lasting approximately two hours are available but must be booked in advance.
Established in 1956, this 25-hectare park houses over 2,100 animals and is renowned for its spacious Africa exhibit, rhino enclosure, and the tropical Humboldthaus. It also features a unique 'Zoo School' offering educational programs for all ages.
This open-air museum in a former fishing village showcases 17 historic buildings, including a 17th-century farmstead and an 1888 village school. It preserves Mecklenburg's rural heritage through traditional architecture, regional crafts, and a collection of historical heirloom plants and fruit varieties.
