Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert is an isolated village in the Hérault region. It's situated in the valley of the Gellone river which runs through the town, and because of its isolation it has maintained its historic state. It is a beautiful town worth spending a day or two in.
By car
You can drive to the town but not into it. There are three main car parks around the town and possibly parking charges.
The entire town is walking streets. If you bring a car you need to leave it in one of the three car parks outside of the town and walk in (about five minutes max).
