Overview

Reforma Agraria is an ejido (indigenous community) in Chiapas in southern Mexico close to the border of Guatemala and the Lacandon Jungle. The ejido hosts an eco-lodge that protects the endangered ara macaw.

From Comitán, take a colectivo from the city centre. They leave from the same bus station as the ones for the Lagunas de Montebello National Park. Tell the driver you're going to Las Guacamayas M$225 (Dec 2023).

DoAll of the activities are organized by the eco lodge of las Guacamayas. Prices may seem high but you can share with other people so don't hesitate to ask the guests around. Tours are only in Spanish.

BuyThere is no ATM in town. So bring enough cash. The eco lodge accepts cards with 2.5% surcharge.

SleepThe main option to sleep is the eco lodge but people in town also offer rooms for cheaper.
