Paksan (ປາກຊັນ) is in Bolikhamsai Province, in Central Laos. It is not a particularly appealing town but has become a busy place (by Lao standards) due to the ever increasing traffic on Hwy 13.
Run by a very welcoming family. The daughter speaks some English, the mother speaks some French. The setting in the garden is very nice and the rooms are cosy, although a bit small and dark.
Nice clean rooms with TV, fan and optional air-con. Don't be put off by the soulless entrance hall.
, to Vientiane and Pakse (US$10, 10-15 hr depending on the bus) and everywhere in between. Buses going to Vietnam via the Cau Treo border crossing also pass through here.
