Noshiro (能代市; Noshiro-shi) is a city in northwest Akita prefecture.

This large gymnasium hosts a variety of sporting events, for both participants and spectators. In the past, it has held professional basketball games.
The north-eastern corner of Akita prefecture is serviced by Odate-Noshiro Airport (大館能代空港; ONJ), which is located in Kitaakita city, approximately 45 minutes from Noshiro.
