Melton Mowbray, usually referred to locally as just Melton, is a market town in the county of Leicestershire, England. It is famous for the Melton Mowbray Pork Pie and as the centre of Stilton Cheese production. Melton Mowbray is also recognised as the "Rural Capital of Food".

It has a good variety of traditional real ales and offers an excellent Sunday lunch.
Real ales, and live bands on Fridays and Saturdays. The bands tend to be formulaically loud.
It is a splendid pub, the landlord Mr Trettis being the longest serving in the town. Sunday lunches are of a very high standard.

30-bedroom family-run hotel and restaurant on the outskirts of Melton Mowbray. Traditional and modern food is served in a very relaxed colonial-style restaurant, not a typical hotel. Sysonby Knoll has immaculate gardens and is open for tea/coffee during the day. Particularly popular for Sunday lunch.

By bus
Buses also arrive from Leicester, Oakham, Nottingham, Loughborough and Grantham. There are no buses in or out of Melton in the evenings or on Sundays and Bank Holidays.
The town centre is fairly small and can generally be done on foot. Most of the main shops and streets are wheelchair/pram friendly. The main shopping area is pedestrianised apart from delivery vehicles.
