There are two things scarce matched in the universe: the sun in heaven and the Thames on Earth. This walk along the South Bank of the River Thames makes for a pleasant couple of hours of riverside views, majestic cityscapes, and interesting cultural sites in the heart of London.
UnderstandThe route is about 4 miles (6 km) following paved paths on the riverside, which are usually busy with visitors and those who live and work in London.
PrepareA map and a camera could be useful, but no special preparation is required.

WalkThe walk can be taken either east-to-west or west-to-east. East-to-west is generally easier, as one then ends up in central London for the rest of the day.
