Haukeli is a small mountain village in Vinje, Telemark. Haukeli is home to a wide range of services for visitors to the area. During winter, the Haukelifjell mountains are beautiful and wild. You will find everything from rugged mountains to sheltered birch forests, and it's quite common to meet flocks of wild reindeer. If you are after peace and quiet, there are large areas where hardly anyone goes. Haukeli is also a gateway to the skiing trails to Hardangervidda.
Haukeliseter
- in an area that invites you to game hunting and freshwater fishing in the summer and skiing in the winter. Excellent hiking terrain.
- nice hotel, with charm and personal atmosphere
You can take E-134 from Drammen (and Oslo) to Haugesund/Stavanger over Haukeli and see a beautiful mountain area. If you take the old road instead for the tunnel it would be a nice experience.
