Overview

Black Hawk is a city in Gilpin County in Colorado's Front Range. Also known as "The City of Mills". It is a popular destination because casino gambling is legal. Nestled up in the Rocky Mountains with beautiful scenery and a 35-minute drive from Denver, Colorado

The Nest at Black Hawk

from Denver: take I-70 West toward Grand Junction, then take Exit 244 toward US-6 / Colorado Mills Parkway, following signs onto US-6 W and then CO-119 N straight toward Black Hawk (about a 40-minute drive total); entering Black Hawk: navigate into the old gold-rush town center along the narrow streets and casino gulch; turning onto Miners Mesa Road: head upward out of the main town area on the road climbing steeply up the hillside; arriving at the resort: continue up Miners Mesa Road until you spot the geodesic dome resort property on your right side

Getting there

By bus
Casino Shuttles depart down town Denver and Aurora all day, roundtrip from $23 taking 30-40 minutes.
By plane
By plane then you are coming from Denver International Airport (DEN) which isn't too far away about 90 minutes. Commonly referred to as DIA. It is about 20 miles to the east of downtown Denver.
