The last remaining brick antebellum house in Vidalia, built around 1845 as an overseer's house. Originally owned by Alfred Vidal Davis, Sr., one of the wealthiest planters in the state in the mid-19th century. John R. Lynch, Mississippi's first black congressman, was born into slavery on the plantation in 1847.
This plantation is a good representation of what the antebellum cotton plantations were like in appearance.
