Presents the history of Camp Toccoa and the paratrooper training that the Easy Company 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment (of the Army's 101st Airborne Division) underwent in preparation for World War II. This was the military force depicted in the show Band of Brothers. Also here is the town's visitor center.
Camp Toccoa was a basic training camp for United States Army paratroopers during World War II, located in northeastern Georgia, five miles (8 km) west-southwest of Toccoa. Among the units to train at the camp was the 506th Infantry Regiment. The regiment's Company E was portrayed in the 2001 HBO miniseries Band of Brothers. The camp site's approximate elevation is 1,150 feet (350 m) above sea level.
