A park distinctive for being the site of a militant takeover like Berkeley Park in Berkeley CA, by individuals affiliated with the Chicano Movement resisting assimilation in the likes of Cesar Chavez, with the main attraction being extensive murals beneath the Coronado Bridge superstructure. There is also the Chicano Park Museum and Cultural Center on site and a statue of General Zapata.
Chicano Park is a 7.9 acres (32,000 m2) park in Barrio Logan, a predominantly Chicano/Mexican American community in central San Diego, California. Located beneath the San Diego–Coronado Bridge, the park is home to the largest collection of outdoor murals in the United States, as well as various sculptures, earthworks, and an architectural piece dedicated to the cultural heritage of the community.

College basketball enthusiasts may be familiar with "The Show", SDSU's famously rowdy student section. They play their home games at Viejas Arena (formerly Cox Arena) on the SDSU campus. The Aztecs college baseball team plays at Tony Gwynn Stadium (also on the SDSU campus). The college football team opened the new Snapdragon Stadium in Mission Valley, built on part of the site of the team's former home of San Diego Stadium, in 2022.
