In the adjacent village of Ruidoso Downs. Horse racing from Memorial Day to September, culminating in the major All American Futurity, a $2-million event on Labor Day that bills itself as the richest quarter-horse race in the United States.
Ruidoso Downs is a now-closed horse racing track in Ruidoso Downs, New Mexico. The track previously hosted both Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing, notably the All American Futurity, the richest race in Quarter Horse racing with a purse of $3,000,000.
