Thomas Hartley built the home during the 1910s and is made of 84-pound concrete blocks. Pinellas County authority bought the home in 1996 and repurposed the former home as a museum two years later, in 1998. The museum's exhibits include local history events such as agriculture and the effects of World War II. Parts of the home have been preserved in their original state.
The Palm Harbor Museum is a local history and historic house museum located in the historic Hartley House in Palm Harbor, Florida.
