The Northwest Suburbs are in Chicagoland, primarily in northwestern Cook, southern Lake and northern DuPage County, centered along Metra’s North Central Service, though encompassing areas well beyond the rail line. The Northwestern Suburbs constitute the largest portion of Chicagoland outside of the city.
With its proximity to O'Hare International Airport, much of the Northwest Suburbs area is accessible via both I-90 and I-94. Other major routes include US 20 and IL 53.

Arlington Heights is a city in northeastern Chicagoland. The 2010 Census put the population at 75,101, the largest for a village in the United States.

Rosemont is a city in Cook County in the state of Illinois, just outside of Chicago. It does enormous business as the primary hotel supplier for O'Hare International Airport, but has a couple of the region's best-known concert venues as well.
Schaumburg is a city in Chicagoland, best known for its ever popular Woodfield Mall, the largest mall in Illinois. Its name is derived from a place in Germany.
Wheeling is a village in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. It is home to about 39,000 people (census, 1 April 2020) .
Vernon Hills is a city in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago, Illinois.
