Newport is a city in the Northeast Kingdom region of Vermont.

Roman Catholic church opened in 1909.
Newport is on the shoreline of the large lake and has a wooden boardwalk that can be walked or biked that leads over the water. It is also rumored that the lake holds a lake monster, Memphre.
The former Massawippi Valley Railway line from Newport to Lennoxville was abandoned in 1990 and the track removed in 1992. Three segments are now cycle trails: the Newport Cycle Path from Newport to the Canadian border and (in Quebec) Beebe Plain to Ayers Cliff and North Hatley to Lennoxville.
A wonderful Italian restaurant. The food is truly artisan, you won't find any overcooked baked ziti here. The salads, pizzas, and seafood are worth highlighting.
Indoor pool, hot tub, exercise facility. AAA 2 diamonds.
An independent hardware store turned mega-mart. You can find almost anything in this great spot: a toilet, board game, banana split, or new pet fish.
From the south, Newport is most easily accessible using Interstate 91. Taking exits 27 or 28 will lead you into the town./Canadian border.
