It has several camp grounds, trails for walking, biking, and skating, nature trails, tennis and basketball courts, large fields to run around, hosts the annual Great Delaware Kite Festival which is held on Easter weekend every year, the Great Dune, a World War II observation tower overlooks the beach, 3,000-acre park (1,200-ha), nature center, and areas for surf fishing. Cape Henlopen is also the Eastern Terminus of the American Discovery Trail.
