A stone bridge was built in 1860 but just a few years later William T Sherman ordered it burned. Somehow it escaped total destruction there but was carried away by floodwaters in 1969. You can see a reconstructed version with its arched design here next to Norris Creek along with some other pioneer buildings like a calaboose.
