This trail is Virginia's "skinniest" park, consisting of a trail for walking, jogging, and biking that stretches about 40 miles, with rest areas and playgrounds along the way. It passes through Falls Church toward Arlington in one direction (right next door) and Vienna in the other (about 7 miles away), crossing roads and over highways, through larger parks, and near stores and restaurants.
Restored in the 1970s, this mid-19th-century Greek Revival-style house with a barn has been turned into a museum teaching about homes and agriculture 1860s. Periodic Civil War demonstrations and other events are held in the attached park, as well as community programs such as the Memorial day fair and parade, free summer concerts, etc.
Eden Center, with its colorful arch, cultural vibrance, and frequent Vietnamese cultural events, is that rare strip mall that can rightly be considered a bonafide tourist attraction. The main reason to come is of course the peerless Vietnamese cuisine in its restaurants, but the shopping can be fun too, be it food or tchotchkes (or just useful, if you are Vietnamese and want some DVDs from the home country). There are more than 100 shops and restaurants packed into this small mall.
Eat and listen to live concerts at this club and rental venue, housed in a historic building (built 1936, operated as a movie theater until 1988) in Falls Church's pedestrian-friendly downtown area.
