Delano is a city in Kern County in the San Joaquin Valley of California.

The Forty Acres, a Federally landmarked complex which includes a Mission-style union hall, a clinic and a retirement village, was the first headquarters of the United Farm Workers, which was led by Cesar Chavez and did groundbreaking work that helped to improve the working conditions of the laborers in California's numerous fields.
