Historic way station along a wagon road between Nashville and Knoxville circa the 1830s where Andrew Jackson once stopped, and near the town of Sparta that nearly became Tennessee's state capital.
The Sparta Rock House State Historic Site is a stone building near Sparta, Tennessee, United States, that once served as a rest stop and tollhouse. Built in the late 1830s, the Rock House catered to traffic along an important wagon road between Knoxville and Nashville, offering badly needed lodging and supplies to travellers who had just crossed the rugged Cumberland Plateau. The Rock House was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1973 for its architecture and its historical role as an important rest stop.

And another, cascades here and there and just a real gusher at times.
Eroded rock formations form an enchanting presence of palisades and pinnacles.
262-acre park with BBQ/picnic shelters, trails, a playground & a lake for boating & fishing.
Just a real delight, watching the water roll off the travertine and looking at old weathered buildings in the foliage.
