The Channel Islands, also known as the Santa Barbara Islands, lie off the coast of California in the United States, between Santa Barbara and Los Angeles and lie in Santa Barbara County, Ventura County and Los Angeles County.

The visitor center is located in Ventura. The park encompasses five islands (Anacapa, Santa Cruz, Santa Rosa, San Miguel, and Santa Barbara) and their ocean environment, preserving and protecting a wealth of natural and cultural resources. Isolation over thousands of years has created unique animals, plants, and archaeological resources found nowhere else.
