The Badlands is a region in the USA that includes western South Dakota and North Dakota marked by rugged terrain and formations that resemble a science fiction landscape of another world. These rock formations take on the shapes of domes, twisted canyons and slanted walls, often striped in different colors.

Beach is a town in the Badlands area of North Dakota. It is named for Capt.
Medora is the western-themed resort town in the Badlands of North Dakota. It is at the entrance of Theodore Roosevelt National Park, and the Medora Musical draws large audiences from across the region.

Badlands National Park is a national park in southwestern South Dakota. This park is marked by rugged "badlands" terrain, sharply contrasting with the rolling hills and prairie surrounding it.
