Named after the Battle of Gheluvelt, a battle in the First World War, it is a popular and well maintained park to the north of Worcester. It includes a children's play area, and a band stand (which is used during the summer). There is also a 'splashpad' which is operated during the summer. In 2011 a number of external exercise machines were installed around the park towards the river.
They have both flat-horseracing in summer and jump races in winter.
Worcester Royal Infirmary operated from this site from 1771 until 2002.
Annual beer festival held around the middle weekend of each August. Buying a ticket in advance is recommended, as there is only a very limited number of tickets sold on the door. Over 100 beers and a selection of ciders, perries and wines.
