Wallasey is on the Wirral peninsula in Merseyside and includes the seaside resort of New Brighton and the district areas of Liscard, Poulton, Egremont and Seacombe.

A coastal defence battery built between 1825 and 1829. It was built to protect the Port of Liverpool and as a fortified lighthouse to replace the old Perch Rock Light. It was built on an area known as Black Rock and was cut off at high tide, but now coastal reclamation has made it fully accessible.
Built in 1858 a part of a military fortification to defend the Mersey.
Situated alongside the promenade, the park has a popular cafe and provides a good view across the River Mersey. During summer, the park has attractive floral displays.

By rail
For all stations: From Liverpool Lime Street, Central or James Street, take Merseyrail's Wirral line service to New Brighton.
By boat
Frequent and reliable Merseyrail services operate between the town's stations. There is also an extensive bus network. Saveaway tickets are valid on all public transport in Wallasey.
