A citadel built in the sixteenth century, situated on a 150-meter-high rocky promontory overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. Although the fort is home to Roman dating, most of the work was probably erected in the sixteenth century. The building surrounded by a wall reinforced by square towers is accessible by a door defended by a barbican. What is probably a former Byzantine chapel with three naves hosts an exhibition of various documents and records relating to the fort. Remains of military installations, an oratory and Ottoman basins complete the whole. The fort is now one of the main tourist attractions in the city of Kélibia.
